  • I opened a private chat with one of my members yesterday. Nothing was typed in the chat by either of us but now I cannot close the pop-up. Every time I click on the X to close it it reappears on refresh.

  • Please add...

    - Option to see who is online at first glance.

    - Add text to chat bar that lets users know it is a chat bar. Right now, it is currently a blank, gray box.

    - Automatically show the main room on bottom as a tab like in the old version. Only show a list of chat rooms if multiple chat rooms have been created.

    - Add option for admin to display the who's online tab open on page load.

    Thanks for your time.

    • Hi there!

Thanks for useful suggestions! Some of them were completely new and some I have already posted and passed to the management. So I have created the new ones and updated already existed with your comments. Once the management would make the decision regarding any of them I'll let you know here on creators.

      Best regards,

      Ning Team.

  • Here I thought it was just me.  Yeah, it's been down since late this afternoon.............

    • Hi there,

Unfortunately after the implementation of new chat, we are experiencing the high servers load so it's possible that there is a delay in message sending or even the chat could be down. We do apologize for all these inconveniences< our tech team is currently working on them.

      Best regards,

      Ning Team.

      • They told me there's nothing wrong. *lol* Wrong!

    • I removed it it has a lot of bugs that needs to be fixed
  • This new chat feature update overly complicates something that was simple and quick to use.  Especially for my small group.

I liked being able to see how many and who was online at a quick glance.  Now, after testing it with friends, not only are unnecessary steps included, the ones it says are online are not actually online.

The advantages of the old chat are that one could one click into the main chat, or one click into private chat with whomever was showing online from the list of all online.
For my purposes the ability to form chat groups is pointless.  I realize others may need this, or desire it.

I would like the option of running the old chat system instead.

One question I do have is, will files and pictures people send through chat burn of my storage space?

    • Hi there!

We do apologize for the issue with the online status of the network member. I have created the report and passed it to the tech team, when the issue would be resolved I'll post this information here.

Regarding the storage, yes the files and pictures that are sent through chat feature will take space in storage.

      Best wishes,

      Ning Team.

    • That's a very good question regarding storage space

I also agree we need to be able to see how many people are online easier and it just looks like a grey box at the bottom of the page - it still needs a bit of work but more design as opposed to functionality - works far better on mobile and the fact you can now see people typing / replying is a massive improvement
