Thank goodness we have extensive experience migrating content from Ning to WP and WP Multi-site...lol.
BTW, the initial post was, by far, one of the most perfectly canned corporate announcements I've ever seen. No details, no acknowledgment of doubling their price just a few days earlier, no comment on the wide spread 500 related errors, no mention of the lackadaisical response to the errors ...all we're getting here is sunshine, lollipops, and unicorns farting rainbows. I've seen better in Presidential campaigns.
I've been with ning for 7 years or so. Their gross negligence will cost me over three quarters of a million...I'd appreciate something more meaningful than a canned response. I am confident nothing of the sort will be forthcoming.
I remain hopeful that the new-new-new ning will return to it's previous status as a technology innovator and subscriber advocate.
people Cyndx is a financial raising company with absolutely zero experience with social networking. My bet is they are simply here to liquidate Ning's assets. We are probably safe for a couple months, but I would move on to something more stable like wordpress, tumbllr or blogger.
Ning doesn't have any assets beyond declining customer base and dated technology. There's no reason for anyone to buy it except to improve and grow it.
I believe they bought Ning cheap to access our data.

The statement is pure propaganda. It reads that Cynx is going to further Ning's status as a social networking tool. The LinkdIn link tells you something, that they have between 11-50 employees and only focus on financial matters. It's ridiculous to think they offer us anything in the way of improving anything.
