We are pleased to announce that Cyndx LLC entered into an agreement with Mode Media to take over the operations of Ning Inc from Mode Media effective immediately.  The Ning and Cyndx teams together are bigger, stronger, and better positioned to provide innovative media solutions that will improve our customers social experience.

  • Yesterday, I sent an urgent broadcast email to all our NING members to transition to a parallel, private Facebook group, immediately.

    The NING dashboard is malfunctioning today. I have 40% confidence in the sustainability or continued access to the NING platform due to increasing downtime, raised prices, and lack of technology support for mobile access on the 2.0. I want to be proactive to provide continuity and continued communication for our members.

    It is statistically significant that NING (et al) has a pattern of disregard for their customer base, lack of platform support, and financial instability.

    A word to the wise: export your member list and archives.

            I used https://json-csv.com/ and paid for premium when i moved my Ning to BuddyPress a few years back. Remember to validate your json files - there are loads of validators out there. SP

            I have been in search of this myself. There is no simple solution.

            1) You need to make sure the json is formatted properly before you even get to the point that it is ready for a converter

            2) There are some solutions out there but they don't seem to be ideal either because of processing power required or requiring you to upload all your data online to convert. I don't feel comfortable uploading all that info to "some website" especially when it contains user info.

            All that being said I have figured out a way to convert json to csv. It takes a little time but it can be done.

            • I just used json lint pro, was a free download if I remember correctly and after a few hours it popped out nicely formatted json from the 1 massive line I fed in.  Hopefully that will work for folks.
