        • Exactly. I doubt Ning will take things as seriously as they need to now, unless they see the fact we are tired of all the BS here, and that we are demanding things either improve tremendously or they account to us why they haven't improved.

        • I'm sure Ning know what they need to do without the distraction of a few disaffected users.

          • I have to agree with Philip. There are more than just a few of us who are dissatisfied with things. Many of us are extremely sick and tired of the mess. We pay our fees every month or every year, and we aren't getting the networks we pay to have. We are, instead, stuck with problems that either go ignored, or continually increase instead of decreasing. I think we very much need to voice our dissatisfaction with it all.

          • Philip - more than just a few. That's really the problem in capsule.

        • These prices are easy to afford. What we pay for a year's rental of Ning's proprietary software is nothing in the scheme of things. Try employing someone to develop and maintain the same thing on a weekly basis.

            • Not arrogance, just common business sense.

Even if you are letting your members use your network for nothing, you are still a business and if you cannot find a way to pay then you have to re-think and re-write your plan.

              Freemium is long since dead.

      • Ok. Good idea. Sounds like a FB page dedicated to archiving / migrating might work. https://www.facebook.com/Ning-Migration-1021518551294421

Post up there solutions. I'll get working on a campaign and declaration.  Like the page to support.

        • David, no need to reinvent the wheel- theres already a long established community site for peopl discussing moving/migrating off ning to other platforms, and the pros and cons of th various migration process, costs, etc.

          right here:  https://excreators.com/community/forums

owned and moderated by Troy B, developer andformer ning creator . I think Garfield helps out on that site too? Lots of info on the various options already there! seems well organized, and run objectivly.

I dont think threats of leaving ning have ever done anygood.  Lots of people seem to now be leaving to Socialengine, Wordpress, and Jamroom ever since the price doubling announced.  or just closing up their sites.

          • Suki,   Thanks for that and will look there.

My basic point is that a new set of eyes must be made aware of what's wrong. I work and run a large SaaS tech company (EnglishCentral) and know what I'm talking about. Those who can make the right decisions often don't see or aren't made aware of what's wrong depending on the corporate culture.  So they don't make fixes and the rot continues to set in despite their good intentions.

            • Thanx David for your friendly response.  :)   I think that if the new owners of ning arent aware of all the bazillion posts on their own FB page from their payingcustomers, then theres probably no hope for them -lol!
