    • Does this mean that we have nothing to do? Except wait for the Ning team to come in on Monday and sort this out? Unfortunately, for us in India it is already Monday Morning and our network is non operational ... dont know what to do!

      • Sorry about that, Prithwis!

  • As a stopgap measure for folks who are unable to reach their Ning site, our members have reported success by using the TOR browser (https://www.torproject.org/projects/torbrowser.html.en). It works for members who are unable to access Ning sites via conventional browsers (tested).

    •  This is the way I understand it.... I have one member using TOR, and the rest are on Chrome...some have called their IPS because with  Ning changing servers and their own IPS's -it looks like suspicious action especially since Ning is HTTP not HTTPS

      • Oh I understand why some browsers might work better for some, etc.,  but it just seems easier to me to check isitdownrightnow.  It is an instant answer, no doubts on ISP, etc.  Either way....I am done with NING.....I shall vanish quite quickly.

        • I wish you luck...

        • Donna. I am on the group Ex Creators now, and they are helping me search for a platform that will fit my needs. I specified my wish to have total control over content. I don't want a site with pornography, but I see nothing wrong with Works of art such as statues, paintings and sketches that are tasteful, rather than pornographic, though depicting some forms which are nude. That is one of the rules I have always thought too astringent on Ning. I really got tired of telling people things like, "I realize it is a painting in which the breasts are not covered, but it is not acceptable because Ning will shut us down over it." Every single time the person, usually a lady, will get angry and accuse me of hating women over it. They were never able to understand that I had no choice in that rule, it was forced onto us by the platform.

I also made sure the guys at Ex Creators knew that it was a matter of Pricing as well.

          • Chazz, I have to find some humor today and nearly spit my coffee reading about women thinking you're a hater because you don't want to show boobs...

All of my moderators were scheduled to post art project swaps yesterday. I was able to get a broadcast message out to everybody to HURRY!! and sign up for our much-anticipated Secret Santa swap.... then it went down.

            • They shocked me with their reaction to it. Personally I think that rule is way too astringent, but to imagine being accused of hate over not letting it be on my site is a bit weird. My Left column of my website is refusing to load and be visible today, and when I tried to access my Management console to see if they are performing some test or maintenance, or what ever, my Console was not reachable. Instead I received this message I have screen captured and posted here. It took a couple of tries to even upload the picture to post it here.3239048?profile=RESIZE_1024x1024

              • The same thing is happening on my network.
