Introducing Profile Page Layouts and Tab Containers

As part of today's Design Studio release, we've given profile pages their own page type under Site & Pages. You can now choose a layout for all profile pages and can decide what content should appear there and how it should be positioned.

Tab Containers are a new element that we've added to Site & Pages under "Add Content". A Tab Container is a box that you can put other content elements inside in order to line them up as horizontal tabs on the page.

We're using Tab Containers on profile pages by default to hold member content; you can easily choose which tabs should and should not appear, which one should come first, and what their order should be. You may prefer to have each module appear separately on the page and not have tabs at all. Want your profile pages to be all about photos? That's easy to do now. v2 themes have an extra tab or section that can be added to profile pages called "About" that contains Profile Questions and Answers.

If you're a developer and you want to do something clever using javascript, we've added a json block to each profile page that lists the screenname of the viewer, the screenname of the member who's profile you're on, and also the questions and answers to any public profile questions they've answered.

Please note that the process to provide profile page layouts will take some time to deploy, so your network may not have it immediately even though it may have the other changes that are in this release.
