Current status of the Ning Platform is always available on the Ning Status Blog.

Update:  This has been rolled back.  We will not be proceeding with the price increases to Ning Plus and Pro or discontinuing grandfathered Ning Mini subscriptions at this time.  More information on this can be found here.

As a continuation of the adjustments to our offered plans we began at the start of this year, we’re making the following changes to the plans offered for Ning 2.0, effective October 1, 2016:

  1. Retiring the Ning Mini plan.  We discontinued new Mini subscriptions in October 2012.  After keeping your Mini subscription and rates the same for nearly 4 years, we are now discontinuing all existing Ning Mini subscriptions.  Mini Network Creators will have the choice of upgrading to the Ning Plus or Ning Pro plans or canceling their network. Mini networks we don’t receive a response from prior to October 1st will be canceled and locked at the end of their current bill cycle.
  2. Increasing Ning Plus and Pro prices.  After five years, we are now raising our rates for both the Ning Plus and Pro plans, which have remained the same since July 2011.  Plus Network Creators will be able opt into the new Plus rates or cancel.  Pro Network Creators will be able to downgrade to Plus, opt into the new Pro rates, or cancel.  Plus and Pro networks we don’t receive a response from prior to October 1st will renew at the new rates, beginning their first bill cycle after October 1st, and will continue to renew until we receive a formal request for cancellation via phone or email.

How do I find out when my subscription renews?

You can find out what your bill cycle date is and when your subscription renews by logging into your Ning.com account, clicking the "See Billing & Invoice History" link, and viewing your invoices.

I’m on Ning 3.0, will my subscription fee go up, too?

No, we do not have plans to raise Ning 3.0 prices at this time.

My Ning Plus/Pro – Annual subscription just renewed in July.  When will I see the new rates?

Your current subscription and its rates are valid through the end of your current bill cycle, through July 2017.  You will only see the new rates once your subscription renews next summer.

My Ning Plus/Pro – Monthly subscription is set to renew September 20th.  When will I see the new rates?

Your subscription and its rates will be valid through the end of that bill cycle, through October 20th.  You will see the new rates once your October invoice posts.

What about add-on pricing?

There is not any change to add-on pricing or plans to change add-on pricing or subscriptions at this time.

I don’t want to continue my network.  How do I get my content?

You can archive your network's content with the Ning Network Archiver.  Head to My Network > Content > Archive on your network to install Adobe Air and the Ning Network Archiver on your computer.  More information about archiving your content can be found here.

    • I'm ending up as devil's advocate..

From what i can see the prices for Ning 2 now match those for Ning 3, but on Ning 2 ye have Chat, Events, Videos, and as far as I can make out are not suffering the terrible systems failures that are plaguing our Ning 3 sites, such as reversion to old design templates, comments and blogs and discussions not posting, and mail not sending, and so on. I don't know why anyone would want to be migrated from Ning 2 at the moment, as ye have  a much better deal.

And about the prices, I am very low income so i am speaking from that perspective, but if you have a site now (on Ning 2) that increases from 600 bucks to 1,188 bucks, ye still have all the functioning features I mention (that Ning 3 does not have yet) and a member allowance of 100,000 and a storage allowance of 500GB. Sure, it IS a doubling of prices, but it still ends up at 20 dollars a week for what is a pretty nice drag and drop social media site. For all the pleasure and interaction and fun the sites can bring, especially at that size, I think it is not bad as investment goes. How much is a latte, a beer or a packet of fags in US? A steak and fries?

      Devil's Advocacy Off...

      • Maybe $20 per week is not much for you, but some communities have problems with the current price.

Donations from our members are often not enough to pay for the site, and we have to use our savings. So, that double price kills us here.

      • For most of May, Ning 2 sites were down entirely or only partially functioning. I was totally shut down 50% of the month. For about a month after that, we faced minor glitches and posting errors continuously. On my end, I also had a former admin retain her admin rights and I couldn't remove them. The system said she didn't have them, but she did, and Ning did nothing to help. They actually closed my ticket without response. I've had several issues where my site has failed to function and they are not responsive. Activity feeds have totally disappeared. Email notifications come and go. 400 & 500 Errors galore. All admin controls for me have been shut down... now that's scary- having a community you can't moderate. And, I always get the same responses, if I get a response at all from support. They don't care.

Chat is flaky. A lot of the time messages don't post at all. Our sites don't work on Internet Explorer- one of the most popular browsers in existance. My IE folks haven't been able to upload an avatar in years. Don't even get me started on lack of mobile functionality. No text editor. No ability to upload media in comments. No like system. It is behind on the times. It's an antique when it does work and a piece of crap when it doesn't. In the first three years my site was in existance, we filed 11 support tickets. I've filed 20 since March this year.

    • I haven't tried to migrate , did you email them about it , curious

  • maybe they are planning to sell, and this looks good if the income per member is high

    • I thought about that too --- either planning to sell, or planning to suck it dry for whatever they can get and then abandon ship.

  • they check this page they were advising people to come here on there fb page

    • I'd be surprised b/c the last few tickets I posted, I pointed out that 'we' had discussed the problem on Creators and the guy was completely clueless a/b it.  If he was monitoring Creators, he would've been informed.  I think he's solitaire.  *lol*   There's only one dude there it seems.........."monitoring" status and referring tickets on to someone more skilled.  Tickets are left with "waiting" status for weeks.  There's no one staying on top of anything.  Don't believe it.

  • I too paid in July 2016 till July 2017 . Must I pay for Oct 2016 till July 2017 extra ? Will they add the increased price  from Oct. 2016 to July 2017 to my bill next year?
