Current status of the Ning Platform is always available on the Ning Status Blog.

Update:  This has been rolled back.  We will not be proceeding with the price increases to Ning Plus and Pro or discontinuing grandfathered Ning Mini subscriptions at this time.  More information on this can be found here.

As a continuation of the adjustments to our offered plans we began at the start of this year, we’re making the following changes to the plans offered for Ning 2.0, effective October 1, 2016:

  1. Retiring the Ning Mini plan.  We discontinued new Mini subscriptions in October 2012.  After keeping your Mini subscription and rates the same for nearly 4 years, we are now discontinuing all existing Ning Mini subscriptions.  Mini Network Creators will have the choice of upgrading to the Ning Plus or Ning Pro plans or canceling their network. Mini networks we don’t receive a response from prior to October 1st will be canceled and locked at the end of their current bill cycle.
  2. Increasing Ning Plus and Pro prices.  After five years, we are now raising our rates for both the Ning Plus and Pro plans, which have remained the same since July 2011.  Plus Network Creators will be able opt into the new Plus rates or cancel.  Pro Network Creators will be able to downgrade to Plus, opt into the new Pro rates, or cancel.  Plus and Pro networks we don’t receive a response from prior to October 1st will renew at the new rates, beginning their first bill cycle after October 1st, and will continue to renew until we receive a formal request for cancellation via phone or email.

In addition to the notification emails that went out today, we’ll be reaching out again shortly in subsequent email reminders with customized links that will allow you to accept this price increase or cancel your current plan.  In the meantime, please take a look at the FAQs below.  They should answer any questions you have about this, but we’ll do our best to clarify if they don’t.

How do I find out when my subscription renews?

You can find out what your bill cycle date is and when your subscription renews by logging into your Ning.com account, clicking the "See Billing & Invoice History" link, and viewing your invoices.

I’m on Ning 3.0, will my subscription fee go up, too?

No, we do not have plans to raise Ning 3.0 prices at this time.

My Ning Plus/Pro – Annual subscription just renewed in July.  When will I see the new rates?

Your current subscription and its rates are valid through the end of your current bill cycle, through July 2017.  You will only see the new rates once your subscription renews next summer.

My Ning Plus/Pro – Monthly subscription is set to renew September 20th.  When will I see the new rates?

Your subscription and its rates will be valid through the end of that bill cycle, through October 20th.  You will see the new rates once your October invoice posts.

What about add-on pricing?

There is not any change to add-on pricing or plans to change add-on pricing or subscriptions at this time.

I don’t want to continue my network.  How do I get my content?

You can archive your network's content with the Ning Network Archiver.  Head to My Network > Content > Archive on your network to install Adobe Air and the Ning Network Archiver on your computer.  More information about archiving your content can be found here.

            • No, no it is the Ning code for the merge that is corrupted.. Wp is probably great.. I was not willing to give up 300+ pages and my entire forum of nearly 8 yrs! and that is all WP offers in the merge

      • Sooz Wiki's numbers are from five years ago.  I think we were all thrilled five years ago.  Much has dramatically changed since then and if you talk to a few of the Creators we know, they'll tell you of their clients who have fled over the last few years.  They're still swamped with work.  There's no doubt in my mind it's no where near 90,000 now.

Anyone have an Alexa account?  Can someone give us a longer-term picture of Ning there?

        • KOS out of all those stats and all I wrote... that's it? Yes obviously Ning stats are way down, we know that, but we, you and I, have been trying to move my site for how long now? and what have we found out? There is no place to run to? The grass is not greener, you and I both know that... Damn girl we tried every option...

My point of all those stats...is that there are huge well known websites built on the Ning platform...some with excellent Alexa ratings, some of them are certainly big enough but they are still here...What good does all this do?

Do you know I found all this same kind of talk about alternates even as far back as 2009..And you know that negatives about anything -get more attention then positives any day of the week...and you know how all this stresses me out and stress causes me pain... I can't do this anymore my friend... I need to find some positives in all this... and so far my members are coming through and if what I read is true- if I can pay a yr-before Oct 1 at today's prices then I am good to go...Do you think that is true?

My bottom line... Is there a solution that I can afford and operate -that will move my entire network?

Ps- I have an Alexa account...

      • Susie sorry I dont understand- if you think ning is stable and u want to stay on it then why do you post everywhere about how you are upset angry adn want to leave ning and asking for feedback and help ? Sorry not trying to be rude I just dont understand.

        • I am confused by this statement what do you mean?  "if you think ning is stable and u want to stay on it then why do you post everywhere about how you are upset angry adn want to leave ning and asking for feedback and help"  What do you mean by Post everywhere?

The posts I have made in the last 3 days are consistent...I am staying and I am looking for  some positive input from others...

Now if you are talking months ago when I last posted sure I was/am angry- anyone would be- I still am but I see no other options and I do not see the point of continuing to just complain  about it... no point.

  • Double price to much :(

  •  What I believe.... The price hike comes after   the dust up at Mode Media-read about it below- I believe they are in desperate need of more "Value" to keep their stock listing-therefore a smart business move would be to up the going rates of their holdings...this scenario is what makes sense ot me!

    • Well...........they never raised enough funding to go public so that never happened.  Marc Andreessen leaving the board was also not a vote of confidence in the media company.  If the man doesn't see 'value', he's gone.  Why stick around?  They're very focused on food, fashion and video (so I'm told).  It was said 4-5 years ago it was said that video was the future way to make money.  That social websites were dying out.  I've mentioned that several times here and I've been told the 'video' technology was what attracted Mode to buyout Glam.  What they've done since then is turn off the developer spout, letting us flap in the wind.  Their staff is gone.   Nothing has been developed/released in probably 2+ years. Tickets are left in 'waiting' mode and left unresolved.  The platform continues to deteriorate.  Prices are now going to double.  It certainly doesn't seem like the platform is going anywhere; just charging more to what's left.

Sorry, I'm cranky (big shock) but if they need more value, maybe they should COMPLETE their platform.  At this rate they'll never go public and if they did, every hedge fund on the planet would be short the name as soon as they were able or fighting to get a man on the Board of Directors to steer the company..........until they can show us future value.  That hasn't happened so far.  What makes you think they will?

Fairies, puppies and rainbows....Fairies, puppies and rainbows....Fairies, puppies and rainbows....Fairies, puppies and rainbows....

Okay going to take my anti-bitchy pills now.  lol

Oh wait!  "an error has occurred.  Please try again".  *sigh*  Having trouble posting once again.  Yeah, great platform performance!  lol

      • My Bad on wording... I should have said to GET their stock listing... all articles I am reading say they are hard at work raising funding and a huge chunk of investors came with acquiring Ning.com

        https://techcrunch.com/2015/05/21/more-money-for-mode-media/

Regardless... my point is that Ning.com is NOT for sale!

        • and did you notice just "what" they're pushing?  You join Mode and follow numerous websites.  They're not pushing to build a website or a Ning experience.  Not at all.  They're pushing Mode; a completely different model.
