            • Hi, John!

If you don't mind could you please sent the original file that you have uploaded to our email address (suppor@ning.com) so we could see why is this happening to the video after it has been converted?

Also if you can please mention in the email that it's necessary to pass this email to me as I'm already aware what should be done.

              Thanks,

              Ning Team.

              • Thanks Kyryl, I have sent this email for you.

  • Glad to see this addition.  Praying Chat is next................

  • Since there is currently a storage limit according to each plan many of us will continue to use our own hosted videos until Ning can give us higher storage limit plans. Until then, will the SSL certification you are obtaining block our embedded videos from playing if these videos are hosted by a private networks?

    1) Are the uploaded videos HD or are they the same quality as they are on a 2.0 network?

    2) Are you taking any requests for adding new iframe sources to your whitelist?

    3) Will anyone who has a 2.0 network with videos on them be able to transfer to 3.0 or are transfers to 3.0 currently on hold?

    4) What is the difference between your brand-new bulk media uploader and the bulk media uploader on Ning 2.0 sites.

    • Hi there,

Sorry for delayed reply, it was necessary to take a hold of developers to find out the answers to these questions as they are pretty busy right now so I have received the reply only today.

      1) All the videos are converted into the same resolution which is 448x336.

      2) At this moment we are not accepting requests to add new iframe sources.

      3) The transfer script that we have at the moment and that has been created a long time ago cannot transfer the videos from 2.0 into 3.0 platform as the videos feature for 3.0 networks has just recently been released. So anyway it will be rewritten or changed.

      4) The uploading itself hasn't been changed, the algorithm of video converting has been changed and reworked, also new player uses html5 instead of flash so the videos will be available on most browsers and platforms.

      Best regards,

      Ning Team.

Thank you. I appreciate the response and understand you needed to discuss with developers.

I find it shocking you did not mention that videos are now using html5 instead of flash as this is a big change and the kind of enhancement I thought would be included in the announcement. It is not in the announcement or the link to the page with more details.

Anyway, thank you for your answers.
