this past month my sitemaps been over a million pages  since going over a million pages i noticed ad revenues double

i know google adsence diferentiates between large and small sites and uses diferent payment methods based on site size but the specifics are not known (by me anyway)

however since going over a million pages my ad revenues have steadily been up..by alot

just another reason a proper sitemap is important

has anyone else noticed a ju8mp in ad revenues since passing the 1 million page mark in your sitemaps??

Would many here have over a million pages?

And how can you tell you have over a million pages in your site map?

many would yes

and youd need a proper sitemap to tell nings version only lists the features not every page like it should

seee my other discussions on proper sitemaps

roughly how many members does it take to generate a million pages?

20k? 30k?

depends

damn it erased most of my reply

i got 7k membersw 41k pics but every coment forum reply share page etc is technicaly a page in itself

so it ads upmy sites only 2 1/2 years old

and is at 1,035,789 pagesw with 2-7 k pages aded a day on average

I currently started using pro.xml for my sitemap and it's hosted on their site. I have everything setup correctly with webmaster but am a little confused as to how to setup my Ning site. The robot points to my XML sitemap on pro.xml site but I am confused as to what I should enter in my Ning sites XML? Should I copy and past my XML from pro.xml or point the Ning site map also to pro.xml. If I do point to pro.xml from my Ning site how do I do it? I tried using the similar code you have on your Ning site map with my pro.xml address but I get errors. A little help please.

its funny but i had to do it 2 diferent ways on 2 diferent ning sites

in 1 i just added sitemap: http://wwww.dreadlockssite.com/sitemap.gz to robots.txt

but i got root access so its easy

new site i dont so  i added sitemap: http://sitemap.phllyhangout.com/sitemap.gz but webmaster tools wouldnt recognize it (u need both www and subdomain verified in wmt as yoir sites so i dunno how to woirk it with pro.xml ask them)

after i verified both sites i added the sitemaps url to nings sitemap

and changede robots.txt to point to nings wich pointrs to mine

sloppy but works

u then see your sitemap not in www but subdomain in wmt

also after 40k urls u need a sitemap index wich i had to have inspyder make me a custom beta version of sitemap crawler to auto override the www with subbdomain in the index

Cool. I will try this tomorrow. Thanks for your help.

i believe pro.xml (whats their url/) would have to give u a subdomain account so u can verify it in wmt..i think

Yes I already have my pro.xml site verified with WMT. That part is ok and the site maps are all coming up. Its when I have tried adding or pointing my NING sitemap to Pro.XML that I am having a problem

 I get a parsing error.
User-agent: *
sitemap: http://a8025.hostedsitemaps.com/31822/sitemap.xml

ok i see why these go  in sitemap

<urlset>
<url>
<loc>http://sitemaps.phillyhangout.com/sitemap.gz</loc>
<changefreq>daily</changefreq>

<priority>1.0</priority>
</url>
</urlset>

what u got goes in robots.txt like (b4 user-agent)

sitemap: http://sitemaps.phillyhangout.com/sitemap.gz
User-agent: Mediapartners-Google
Disallow:
User-agent: *
Disallow: /xn/ningbar.php/
Disallow: /xn/atom/
Disallow: /xn/rest/
Disallow: /xn/css/
Disallow: /xn/loader/
Disallow: /main/search/search/
Disallow: /main/authorization/

i see your sitemaop lists only 10k urls and your paying way too much for that

for i think 20 or so u can get a crawler like inspyder and for 2 or 3 a month a hosting account and have no size limmits no limits at all plus that site was very slow to respoond

id get a hosting account from me www.domains-names-registration.com i thits 2 or 3 a month (u can use for oth stuff too besides sitemapos)

tht way your not paying so much fior a sitemap thats probly only 1 1/10th th it shuld be

if your sites over 6 months i bet ya its over 100k 0r more and u only list 10k urls
