Permalink Reply by eCoronado.com on November 27, 2012 at 5:08pm Thanks Eric for keep us updated and we do appreciate the 99.9% uptime.
I'd love to get your/Ning's feedback on these two posts below with regard to being able to brand the network with our logo and edit the 'down time' content ahead of time. It appears you updated the 404 language, but not having our name or logo makes it look so generic and "broken". I know it appears across all Ning-powered sites, but there must be a way to add some branding.
Being able to add a logo, modify content or add an email would be a huge improvement.

Permalink Reply by Eric Suesz on November 27, 2012 at 5:46pm I can absolutely understand your frustration about generic branding. The request for branded maintenance pages is an old one. We were able to add branded maintenance pages about two years ago that show the color of your theme, but they didn't show consistently in this outage, and they admittedly aren't configurable when they do show.
We need to understand why that didn't happen the way it should have.
Permalink Reply by eCoronado.com on November 28, 2012 at 10:57am Eric, thanks for the direct feedback. I appreciate your response and hopefully the branding added to the maintenance message will be working again. I'm just trying to keep members (and advertisers) happy. They don't mind the downtime since it doesn't happen often, but I do want it to look like my site in some regard - even when down. Again, thanks.

Permalink Reply by Janice D Carter on November 27, 2012 at 6:51pm mine keeps going up and down
Looks like things are settling and starting to function again.
For a while I couldn't sign in to my own network, nor as my test member...and then when i did get in, all my PMs were GONE, even in the sent box... =8-0 But now they've all re-appeared magically. Yikes!
Thanks for the prompt updates and attention given to this outage- much appreciated!! :)
When I highlight text to create a link, there is no Link Text in the box like there normally is....then if I add it manually no link is created at all.
This happened last night, too. Is this part of the current issues, or does anyone know why it would be doing this? I am doing it the same way I have done hundreds of times with no problem.
And....I just typed something in a text box. In the edit mode it all shows. When I click save and it goes back to the normal view only the first few words show up!?
thanks!

Permalink Reply by Eric Suesz on November 27, 2012 at 10:02pm I do, too. Look for a follow-up post tomorrow from us. We do a full post-mortem in our offices of any outage that is serious like this one, and we want to provide you with as much transparency into the cause as we can.
