I just wanted to drop a quick note to let you know I'm going to be heading out into the wild world. I've been hanging around here for nearly three years as the community manager of the Creators Network. It's time for me to switch gears and find something new to do. My last day is tomorrow.

Now, I know you people. A few of you are going to think: He's hiding something. There's a reason he's leaving that he's not telling us. Something about the platform. They're selling Ning to a shady international conglomerate that's going to turn this whole thing into a Russian Myspace competitor. I just know it.

Nope. No conspiracies here. Just time for me to tackle something new for 2013. As you probably know by now, I'm a big fan of transparency whenever companies deal with customers, so I wanted to let you know personally instead of just disappearing into the ether.

I actually think this is a great thing for you, the members of this community. You need some new blood here. Allison is going to be taking over for me. You're going to like her. She's great at this community thing. I expect she will come up with some new initiatives that will pump some needed energy into this place. You're also going to see some big things from Ning in 2013. There's a reason things have been a bit quiet lately around these parts; everyone's busy working on something big. (That's all I can say.)

Special shout-outs go to the incomparable Jen, all of the Ning Superstars (especially Thunder X), and Cautious, who has been posting cheerful pics on my profile page for three years without fail. And to all of you who have helped others out on Creators (and helped me out, too): Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being so generous with your time and expertise. I've seen some of the most selfless helpers here, and I honestly haven't seen that in hardly any community I've ever run across. It really makes me happy to be — if not an employee of Ning anymore — still a proud member of Creators.

Keep building community, my friends!
