Activity Feed Update: Display Titles Only & Set Number of Characters to Display

I wanted to update you about some changes that I think some of you will find very welcome: Activity Feed changes. We've made a few updates that should help standardize the appearance and provide you greater control over what appears in the Activity Feed.

We have three details to share about this update.

The main change is that you now have the option to display the titles of posts only, if you choose. If you're not a fan of Detail View, you can choose Titles Only. For those of you who wish to return to an older look, this should come as a welcome change.

You also now have control over how many characters to show in Activity Feed entries. You can choose to show 100, 250, 500, or 1,000 HTML characters under each Activity Feed item.

Finally, text sizes are now consistent on the Main Page. Once again, we'd like to thank all of you who took the time to report any font size inconsistencies. Very helpful!

Those are all of the updates we have for now. One outstanding detail we are still working on: incorporating email notifications for Status updates. We'll post here when those are incorporated into the current set of active email notifications.

Nice - thank you Eric & co. I'll check it out...

Are links going to be auto-parsed in comments on statuses?

Began setting up my new network about an hour ago and noticed the changes, wasn't aware it was that new. This is good.
THUNDER!!!  ❤❤❤

On-site notifications would make much more sense. I agree John. By the time a person gets around to checking their emails, the immediacy of the comment is lost.
i agree-i don't mind having email notifications, i just want on site notifications to be available as well!.....many network's members come to their respective networks before checking email, and MANY people no longer even CHECK email, at all. I really want to see on site notifications for comments, likes, who is following you, all of that in the network. It can only HELP!
That's brilliant. That's great, really.

Don't lose the email notifications...the business world is still plugged into email more than social media.  I know email is on its way out as we know it, but for the 40+ crowd who is still getting used to it, they're not about to change before retirement.  Besides, the purpose of emails in the business world relative to required archiving of company communications could be an issue.

That's what I would like, John. It's only profile comments I need NO detail on. The rest I would like SOME detail on.  Then I'd be in hog heaven!!!!

+1

i think that is a great idea.....on site notifications would make life much more simple
Can we alter the font and size without knowing CSS?
