Add a Footer like Creators.ning.com - - overall look and feel.
A few notes first:
Below is an example of the Footer like Creators.ning.com, and the results of the code from this tip.
Writer Chick inspired me to get this done! =) I have documented the HTML as clearly as possible. When you first look at the code, it may look overwhelming. But trust me, it's easy to edit. I have written this so all code goes in the Bottom Instant Ad Box. You will not have to add any code to Advanced CSS or Custom Code Box.
Since I am including the CSS in the Instant Ad Box, it should load faster, not take up space in your Advanced CSS, and hopefully override Custom Profile Page settings.
Instructions to add Bottom Instant Ad Box:
I could have left out the ability to change the attributes like color, font-family, font-size for: Column Header, Links, background color, etc... It would make it easier to install, but much less control over your look.

That worked beautifully!! THANK YOU!
Now, one more question. LOL Sorry.
A member is customizing their page and my footer colors clash. (rolling eyes). Is there a code I can give members to revert back to the old footer so they can change the colors, only on their individual profile page?
I promise, this is my last question. hehe
I suppose you could give them code to hide the footer. But, pa-leeze. =)
If you do, I would try it first on your own profile page.
It works, but I'm thinking about whether I want to reveal that it works. LOL
Yeah, seriously. Good goo-ga-moo-gee. ;-)
Just wondering, is there a way to change the footer width so that when the color of the footer is changed, the color does not extend the whole width of the browser?
Yes, but I'm not certain I understand what you need. A link or screenshot is always helpful.
If I remember correctly, this was coded to change the background color and width for the outer most CSS ID selector: #xg_ad_below_footer. Find, change width, and see if this is what you need:
width: 100% !important;
Change width: 100%!important;
width in pixels, like width:1002px!important;
I needed to change the xg_ad_below_footer width to 1002px.
Also, just want to thank you very much, not only for your quick response, but for the amount of information and dedication you have shown in helping others get the most out of the Ning platform.
Great! Thanks for the kind words, much appreciated.
Have a nice weekend,
