I would like to add a text box to our Video page. I cannot find how one accesses the Layout as is available on the main page. I just want to add an introduction to all of our videos. Here is the page:

Thank you for your help!

Hey, Next for Women. There's not an ability to add a Text Box to the Video page, but I have heard that request. I will add your request to our improvement request to put a Text Box at the top of nearly every module's standalone page.

I would also like to add text to post at the top of my video page outlining our video posting policies. Has this feature been added?

Not yet, Jerry. We're still advocating for it here. It would be a very useful feature, I think.

If you want to add some message to the top of your videos page, you can try this code in your custom code box.  This is what I am using at my site: http://jqueryhelp.ning.com/video

<script type="text/javascript">
// Add a message to the top of the Videos page:
if (x$('.xg_widget_video_index_index').length > 0) x$('#xg_body > .xg_span-16').prepend('<div style="background-color:#EEEEEE;padding:0.5em; margin-bottom:1em;">Please enjoy our videos!  Watch a bunch of them!  Comment on the one highlighted in yellow to get jPoints!</div>');
</script>

Change the message to suit your site.  Change the style of the div too if you'd like.

If you happen to use a single-quote in your message, escape it with a backslash (\)

so this:

I'm glad you're here!

becomes

I\'m glad you\'re here!

Best wishes!

"TJ"

You're awesome, TJ. Thank you! I had forgotten about this winning tip.

Thanks, and YW!

There are lots of great tips here for adding messages to certain pages, from kind and helpful members of this site.  We have some really nice folks here!

Thanks!

I'll give it a try. I'll let you all know if it works.

Jerry

Uhhhhg... I am not sure what happened but I pasted the text above into the actual box where you post a video. Now I can't access the "video" and can't delete?! Please help.

Here's a quick screencast of my problem.

I realize now that I need to go to custom code, but I can't delete what I have.

Jerry

I wanted to add a text link from a sponsor, (I suck at coding, but have started in a class last week) I tried this code, and got it to work! Thanks, TJ!

I have some other things I want to change as well, will search this forum more!
