Add a message to the main chat room?

Hi all

 

I'm fairly new to Ning, I inherited our site from my predecessor, who designed it & set it up. I may have missed something in the setup, but a fairly extensive hunt around has not unearthed any solution to my question!

Is there a way to add text above the window in the chat room? I want to include a message to let people know the times of our regular chats (we have weekly times we fun facilitated chat sessions), but I can't work out how to add a message.

Any help would be much appreciated!

I see your network is set to private Hugh. How about trying it on your test network?

I just used the language editor.

Hi DTM, you can try the code first in your test network (clean) if you want to check for issues, works for us everytime. :-)

Nope, doesn't do a thing. Paste at top, paste at bottom, doesn't matter. : ( 

I have other edits for my chat in advanced code that work fine, like custom chat emoticons. 

Oh well.

It does work but the bad thing is that the popup windows for chat and members logged in that earlier appered on the bottom right is gone :(

Thank you Scott. Seems to be working fine on my network. I had thought of how nice it would be to have times for scheduled chat times for my network about a year ago. I had kind of for forgotten about that wish. Thanks again.

I added the code offered in the comments and had issues due to it I removed the code and it is now fine. - See here

Yes, you're right.
This script causes the chat boxes on the fornt pages not to load properly or not load at all.
As soon as I deleted it the problem went.
