Alert for comments on profiles, photos, and everything else

I;m not really sure what NING's plan is with regards to comment notifications, but I really wish that the members of our ning networks can be notified from our main page when someone has left them a comment on whatever kind of content they have posted.... Facebook has this feature.... don't get me wrong I am not trying to make my NING network exactly like Facebook, but I have realized the importance of this kind of have system....

 

As most of you probably already know, a lot of users do not really check their emails anymore... it's either because its full of notification messages from all the social websites they have joined, or because to them it has simply become obsolete....

 

As such, most of our members don't really know if someone has left them a comment on one of their photos... especially if they have uploaded hundreds of them... An alert for comments on the main page will definitely help a lot.

 I totally agree with you. I posted a discussion about this a little while back. I want to see in network notifications myself, as well as the ability to send broadcast message to email as well as member's network inbox.

We need alerts for comments on comment walls as well.  I have many members who do not check their comment walls, only to find that they have comments that are months old that they never realized were there.
