Am I able to upgrade or change the chat at my Ning network or even add more chat features?

I am actually trying to add more features to our network under Ning.

The chat room sometimes give problems such as, it show an inaccurate number of members online, cause members to be invisible during chat, erase an entire sentence when a member typed to enter into the chat room, and repeats statements that were previously submitted, and the like.

I would like to know if creators or administrators are able to add more features like an ignore option (for members to ignore annoying users), emoticons, block swear words, ability for members to change their font, text, color, and block any attempted offensive slurs. Can these things be done to the chat on my own network without disturbing the entire ning chat?

 

Do you know how I could possibly obtain these changes? I personally think that the Ning chat needs to be upgraded or change completely if possible! I like a darker color in the background! The chat room is not as fast as it ought to be. It delays responses and when it feels like it – it dumps some of the words or sentences- causing members to repeat themselves constantly.

 

 Thanks! The members are looking forward to an update of the chat if not a completely new chat room.
