LOL honestly what a whine fest going on come on. I for one am estatic that all the dead and abandoned networks will be phased out. I am also happy because for one On my Network I want serious business builder that work from home.

I have been building Networks for 8 years when I joined Ning first thing I did was decide to use my Domane. HomeBasedPreneurs.com and start a Chamber like group where those of us that tried offline chamber or Networking group that had home businesses and did not fit in could meet up and Network.

I also helped some of my members start group most of which they chose to fun free decied they could do what I do and well try to take my members and compete again our established chats without all our benefits and now what.

Now those same people are planning to Abandon their groups like rats of a sinking ship why because they did not want to invest the 4.95 to use their own domain or pay $10 for support or use othe services.

Aside from those htat run non profit and such which Ning has promised to work with I think the True Leaders have nothing to fear.

We will stay with Ning I will not be following anyone to any other sites free or not and I think those that are serious about what they built would and should do the same.

So I am glad to see what is coming and I think many are.

I fully believe in my network. I would put money into it (as I have), and I would also put much work and time into it (as I definitely have).

I would never abandon my members or leave them hanging. That's why I want to make sure my members are on a reliable, trustworthy network with the best features possible.

I'm not complaining. I'm just saying I will have to wait and see what Ning says in the May 4th release, and in the mean time I will be checking out all my alternatives.
I'm going to respond simply to explain that I wasn't picking on you or trying to be rude. I was simply trying to help.
Not yet. Let's give it a chance. The grammar discussion is finished, I hope.
OMG, I'm dizzy.
;-)
I agree with you Robin, to close this.
However, I just wanted to point out that
Intellect, Creativity, Entrepreneurship, Thinking out of the box,
Compassion, Courtesy, Etiquette and Manners do not depend on and
are not bound within the boundaries of "Grammatically Correct" spoken or written English language.
Of course, it does and it must help us "communicate" with fellow human beings, especially in our country.
BTW, did you know that Einstein had autism and learning disability?
Also, Leonardo DaVinci and many of the German scientists who helped create nuclear bombs did not know English at all.

In spite of a learning disability, Nanc expressed herself "very well" and I give her the credit.
Whether one agrees or disagrees with her views is an entirely different matter.
If my latest comment doesn't get the thread closed than I think NING as a whole went on vacation.
I've loved that phrase ever since Leonardo DiCaprio used it to fake being a doctor in "Catch Me if you can". Personally, I wouldn't mind if they switched out the like feature on FB for I concur, because like doesn't necessarily apply to everything.

For example

STATUS: I just lost my dog. I'm sad.

A douche of a friend: LIKE!

Now, if you swap out LIKE for "I concur", then it would actually imply yes I too feel sad rather than I like that you both lost your dog and that you are sad. This was a major oversight on FB's part.
I concur.

The topic originator was speaking gibberish (no I'm not commenting on grammar), and throwing insults at creators as a whole without basis.

NING deletes posts with misleading content all the time and her first mistake was stating a price that she has no information on. Her second mistake was having no concept of public relations to speak for NING as a whole. NING should have deleted this already because it looks poorly on them that someone who can appear so illiterate is the only one praising them. No offense, from a business stand point though you aren't helping NING look any better.

As for your comments, you claim these small start up companies that you helped build a ning site are all abandoning ship. Doesn't that also reflect poorly on you and your leadership as a "TRUE LEADER"? Nothing to boast about there, esp. if that is your business. Let me also note that they joined because it was "fun" and "free" which it is no longer either. It's become a full fledged business and many people joined to create a community with no intentions of profiting off their community members with ads. Some people aren't selling anything and just happened here and now have to move because of these inconvenient changes. Many are also businesses and they don't want to pay for an unreliable product because "TRUE LEADERS" don't make bad investments. "TRUE LEADERS" don't get burned by fire and keep their hand in the fire to watch it disintegrate. Just saying. I'll wait until May 4th to see.

Now if your business is to help entrepreneurs, than help them. Don't come onto this forum and mock the people you claim are your pupils in the online business world. It's disgusting the way you talk about these clients of yours. If you want to make a differnece and teach them real social networking you should be on your NING site giving them tips and not on here bashing other Ning Creators, including the ones you sent here to create NING sites. You may not abandon them but after reading your comments I wouldn't be surprised if they abandoned you for insulting their intelligence.

Finally, you can state you support NING a million different ways without having to attack THE WHOLE COMMUNITY. There are people who pay and are thinking of leaving too. There are people who are thinking of staying or at least waiting to hear NING out on May 4th, no comment on them because they are concerning themselves with their own business and not the business of others, well most of them.

More importantly all of those people who are leaving aren't abandoning ship! We damn well expect to take our members, photos, videos, and important messages with us too!

I haven't written on the forum in a while because I felt it was exactly where it needed to be, but your post is infuriating and honestly NING should have had the foresight to delete this thread because you do not offer insight, accurate information, or anything more than negative infusion to what I consider to be a simmered down riot.

Enough already. Delete the whole thread!
a big "I like" better "I agree"! to Melissa. great post and I agree to all she said.
Ok, that's all from me, back to work now and I wait to see what May 4th. exciting news (changes) are going to be. Still, I am positive good things will happen! ;-)
I wouldn't say I am excited... I just have a "wait and see" attitude. I have been paying for the premium service from the get-go because I don't care for the Google ads. I know I'll be affected in one way or another with added fees, but I hope they'll be beneficial to my overall network.

My wish list:
1) Award/Leaderboard System (like the one implemented by Pinup Lifestyle): http://www.pinuplifestyle.com/go?/rankings_leaderboard

2) More practical forum layout (easier to follow conversations, postings, etc)

3) Integrated Marketplace with the option for members to add their own Paypal or Google checkout buttons for selling the items which are niched to our network

4) Overhaul the Chat feature

If all the above come to fruition, I would be more than happy to pay a reasonable monthly fee (on top of what I already pay). That expense would get passed along to members in the way of a yearly membership fee. We have over 500 members at the present time. If we require a yearly membership, more than likely membership would drop by 75% - but it may be enough to maintain what we currently have going in the way of involvement.
If we get some improved capabilities and some of the long term issues are addressed, this move could be a psoitive thing. One of the things that worries me, besides stabiltiy of NING as a company, is the disappearance of the free networks that are used as development or test platforms......we don't play around with the main site, but we have several networks setup strickly as test networks ---not sure what we'll do when these become pay sites as well as the cost goes up pretty fast............
I have one set up as a sort of sandbox. Maybe we can inform Ning what that sandbox is and somehow connect them to our "premium" network.
