Are you tired of getting spammers like [e-mail] applying to your network?

Hello Creators,

Almost all spammer we were are getting to our network these days have more than three periods in their email address like [e-mail].

Do you agree that if an email address has more than three periods then it should automatically be blocked?

Well, I guess you make a good point. I will pass it along to our team who works on spam. Can't promise it will be done (and it does make a lot of assumptions about what is a proper email address), but I'll at least give it a voice if I can.

Thanks Eric. I appreciate. I just looked through the list of suspended members and there really is a patter especially with gmail addresses.

Hi Joseph,

You could always try turning off native sign up to see if that helps. In those cases, new members will need to be vetted by one of the Social Sign-in services that you're using (Facebook, Twitter etc) and many of these providers pass the email address directly to Ning.

Thanks a good ideas Phil but there is a trend of member who are not a member of other social networks but do feel comfortable joining ours - so good idea, but not best fit for us. Appreciate the suggestion though.

I have also had many of those same spammers- I also get the Nigerian scammers from time to time and this morning I had for the first time a spammer claiming to be a female "looking for a date"; Another scam I am certain!
