did anyone notice how many spammers have yahoo accounts?  the only spammer I have constantly trying to get into my site uses various yahoo accounts...and the questions I require always catches the spammer...they don't know how to answer...makes it easy for me to decline them.

l have a yahoo email address, lol. But l notice most of my spammers are from gmail or aol. I do believe the spammers uses different email addresses and names to get on. Can not ban everyone because of their email provider.

I did want to put my two cents in about DW, anyone that is respectful on my community then I have no issues with them at all, she has been nothing but respectful which I so appreciate.

My Standard letter that is set up through my analytics is sent to every new member:

On the top tab we have areas you can click on to visit or the sub-tabs, hovering over the My Lair,, will show the sub-tabs, there you can see the different areas you may visit, I suggest the groups of your interest, Music, Shamanism, and much more.

As to your own page, if you wish to put up your own backgrounds simply go to settings then you will see “my page” then “appearance” and from there you may decorate your page. Hope this information helps and of course we are always available to help. 

This is not a site for trolling or looking for sex that can be done elsewhere please do not be offended as this is just a general statement we find important yet we want all beliefs here and alternative living is welcomed.

Saying this you should also be aware that with as many beliefs here we live pretty comfortable together although many have strong personal beliefs that may not be the along the lines you agree with. I encourage discussion as I believe this brings enlightenment into learning and growth. Don't be surprised at some heated discussions yet I NEVER let it get out of hand, this is not productive. The community has many European, UK and Australian members that were raised without any other knowledge then their long standing cultural heritage, they live and breathe it, they are not Wiccans or Witches, I tell you this so you understand the diversity we have and the ability for all the come together.

As far as spam, we all know this is unacceptable but I am more than willing to put your associated community under my associated tab. I simply ask this be done appropriately, and not to your friends list unless they accept a request from you to give them a personal link. I received in my inbox a invitation to the same community from that member I then sent this to the member:

 

Hi XXX, thank you for the invite please feel free to put your community up with the Associated Sites I have up as this is not the way we really do this. On many communities this is called Spam and it is specified in the initial letter you receive about how to handle this type of thing. Ask individuals first whether they are interested in recieving a invite and they will let you know whether they do or do not.

Thank you for understanding this, again please feel free to put your communities under Associated Sites where all members are able to see them.

Once sent, I was hit with a invitation left in the comment box of a group to the same community by the same member,  so I went there and deleted that then sent this:

 

Hello XXX, I realize you have your own community and are working hard to make it active but I do prefer you do this in another matter than leaving your email or sending it out via friends list. I am more than willing to help out anyone just so you know.

then upon checking my feedjit I see the same member had been to a members page and left a invitation as well. I had enough and made the difficult decision to ban, the member was the only one I have had to ban in 2 years for Spam.

 

Two days later we receive this:   A suspended member has sent you a message on Pagan UnderWorld. XXX writes:

can you just delete my account? I can't help it that your jealous Perspehone. Btw I think your site sucks, and your idea of a beltane ritual was just fucking gay, true pagans invite anyone into circle gatherings...but you don't have to listen to a true high priestess of brighid if you don't want too.

 

Now as to my Admin. no one knows who they are, they do not have any Admin. next to their name and where someone would assume we would send anything is beyond me.

I've seen an increase in people attempting to join the network. They are clearly human, but I find they give the same answer to all profile questions - so a simple question like "name a local school" catches them out.

Still, it is very annoying.  It would be nice to think that if I blocked them they'd be blocked from other Ning networks too.
