We have a facebook group with nearly 800 members here:
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Climbing-Australia/130063370404717
And a Ning community with just over 100 members here:
We have been trialling various means of growing our member base and keeping records on the cost of recruiting each member. Facebook ads have given us some growth but the cost per member is quite high. However, we have grown our Facebook group quite effectively and I would like to bring across as many FB members as possible to the site BUT..............
I have fiddled like mad with the link to Facebook Integration controls and am totally UNABLE to get my Ning hosted site connected to the Facebook GROUP
It will connect to my personal Facebook account but NOT the group
1. Is it possible to connect a Ning hosted site to a Facebook GROUP?
2. If so how?
Thanks for looking in

I hope you don't mind me asking, but how did you create the Like button on your facebook page. I have been wanting to do this to our FB page, but cannot find how to do this. Any help would be appreciated, Barbls

I think it was a built in feature

Permalink Reply by Michael Combley on August 28, 2011 at 3:55pm Well why can't we link post to Facebook Groups?
Like the ability to determine that the latest forum posts are at the head or end of a forum topic these are performance critical features that we need
When can we have them - or do we have to go elsewhere?

Try out hootsuite.com
You will need a twitter account
Permalink Reply by Eric Suesz on August 28, 2011 at 5:16pm Well, the simple answer why you can't post to a Facebook Group from your Ning Network is that it wasn't designed to do that. I'm not personally sure how Facebook's API works or if it allows for the posting of content to Facebook Groups. We don't currently have this ability scheduled for development, and I haven't actually heard many requests for it, but I can pass along your suggestion to our product team.

I think it might be a good option
Permalink Reply by Michael Combley on August 28, 2011 at 6:52pm A Facebook group is an excellent way to consolidate a large number of people with similar interests via Facebook ads
The intention is to draw the numbers from Facebook into the user's Ning network
The easiest route is to just use the Facebook page updates manually unless Hootsuite can do it from Twitter - I will look into that option
