Blog categories

I would like to see a way to categorize blogs, just like in forums, we can add categories for people to use. I hope Ning adds the feature to blogs as well, where the creator could add categories which show up in a drop down menu below the post. Thank you.

Thanks Janettee, but I use the tag urls to list reference material that many members use, and I think having my name before every phrase makes each list of blog posts look unprofessional.

Another problem with the tags is that if I type one letter or character wrong, my blog post can easily end up in the wrong category, and I may never realise it.

I think it would be a lot more reliable to have preset customisable blog post categories in a drop down box to choose from.

I know you probably have heard this all before admins, but I thought I would just reinforce any suggestions like this already made.

Does anyone know how I can view a list of all the tags for all my networks blog posts? I can only see 10 tags in the list called, "Blog Topics by Tags" on "My Blog" page.

I have searched for an answer on this network but could not find one.

Thanks, but this doesn't list tag links automatically. It requires you to add links to blogs or tags yourself, as far as I can tell. I'm simply looking for a list (already stored somewhere) of all my blog tags.

Yeah I have been looking for the same thing. I haven't found anything that I can use. The only thing I was able to do was add a tab for my members called my blog. Thats about it. I am looking for something similar.

Great idea! I think categories all around would be good - video categories, album/photo categories, event categories, etc.

If there is an option for admins to add categories in forums, there should be similar option in blogs and otehr content. Tags are additional for search purpose but categories will keep the site neat and organized.

I'm so disappointed about not being able to categorize all items.  This is a deal breaker.  I have content I can't add and will have to go and try and create something else because the people won't be able to understand where to find it. 

I have paid for a year in advance and now this site is just sitting here.  I wanted all the people that were joining to be able to add content, categorize it and we'd have a wealth of information.  Can someone reply as to if this is ever coming?  As a developer I need to know the limitations of this platform.
