I would like to see a way to categorize blogs, just like in forums, we can add categories for people to use. I hope Ning adds the feature to blogs as well, where the creator could add categories which show up in a drop down menu below the post. Thank you.

So many sites use blogs to generate research, news and content these days. They are not just for random thoughts and feelings. Blog categories would make my life and my members lives so much easier.

This is a great idea and will likely come up in a later release this year. In the meantime, tagging blog posts work really well to categorize and display a curated list.

I was looking at your html template for blog roll,

I wanted to create a blog roll list for different years,

and by month. I can do this by month. with the template you provided. But not by year.

http://creators.ning.com/page/templates-for-html-pages where it says blog roll. Add some clickable images of our popular contributors to the side. I didn't see a way I could turn this template into a grid view. ning search for blogs

I was also looking for an html template for events

where I could add some links for say: National Local and International Events and a search field with a grid type view that incorporates our ning search for events

Great. I hope it comes out sooner than later.
The problem with tagging is each individual is creating their own tags. Too much chaos. For publishers like me, there has to be some limitations. I wish the feature where the admin can edit categories was working. I have tried several times but does not seem to work. I remember getting a ticket number but no reply yet from Ning team.

That's exactly my problem. If someone else adds the same tags as mine I get other member's content under a tag url, when I only want my own. I have to keep editing their tags.

you could change your tags to say janerecipe instead of just recipe, this might fix the issue. Simply put your name in front of every tag:)
