I know this is probably a very basic question, but I've looked everywhere in the Forum and online and simply can't find a definitive answer.

I've managed a Ning 2.0 site for 5 years. The homepage is currently visible/public but the rest of the site is private, requiring membership to see/post. For the first time, I am seriously considering making the site public so everyone can see all pages since a solution was never developed for 2.0 to have some pages public and some private. I have 2 questions:

1. Once it's public, can people still sign up as members? (I'm pretty sure this is a yes)

2. Does one have to be a member to post on the site, or once it's public, can anyone post?

    Hi Bonnie, you can even make some pages visible to members only and some pages visible to all by using and modifying the following code.

    • Thank you, Bernard! I lost track of this initiative a bit in light of other projects but am revisiting now.

      My web development skills are 15 years old and limited to mostly WYZIWIG. If I were to use this code, where would I put it to make it work on my Ning 2.0 site?

      Also, does the site need to start out as public and then I make some pages private, or vice versa?
