Can We Please Get A Move On With This Mind Jolt Situation?

Disappointed that it's now been almost a week and the Mind Jolt issues haven't been resolved.

 

The issue highlights a few of concerns I have with Ning:

 

  • The "hands-off" approach to Third Party App Issues — OK, I get that it's Third Party, but obviously there is a seal of approval that Ning bestows on particular companies to push their products and services to NING's paid customers. So why is it that anytime I have issues with a third party — like, you know, Mind Jolt — it's an incredibly arduous process to get support from NING? (As you're very clear that any issues with third party issues... are third party issues.)
  • "Passing The Buck"? — In the follow up I've done so far on this issue, neither Mind Jolt or NING has taken responsibility on this issue. Does this mean that there is zero-level of communication between NING and it's third party apps?
  • Should I even rely on Third Party Apps? — What exactly is the quality of standard to be a NING Third Party App? We get a fair bit of traffic from our Mind Jolt games with our community. My members love Mind Jolt, but I find it frustrating how many issues will pop up and there's such a difficulty in getting a support ticket response on it.

I am always weary of "free" 3rd party extensions.  The mentality seems to be that if it is free then you should not expect support.  Once you pay, the mentality changes.  With most 3rd party apps, it is the responsibility to comply with the software, Ning in this case, and not the other way around.  If a software platform has forums, you will see 100's of people yelling that their apps do not work once they upgrade.  The developers of these apps will then charge for a new version of that app to work. 

 

From experience, I have learned that you can always add an app but all hell breaks loose if you remove it.  So, I try to stay away from them especially seeing all the security problems FB has with them.

Unfortunately this isn't something we can fix. HeyZap hosts and owns the app code and will need to make changes on their side to correct the problem.

Wow ! Finally, found what I was looking for. Mindjolt  Games was great on my site and is what kept members visiting. If this 3rd party can't fix the problem, then why doesn't ning add some game apps which can not find any.  Mindjolt Games were really great. Easy access and a variety of games.  What a bummer.
