Hi Andrej,

You can currently do this on pages, because it allows insertion of custom tags inside the head section as described on that link you have provided.

Hope this helps-

Yes but in some cases google crawled the samo content on two pages let say

http://waiterstoday.com/video/waiter-rant-steve-dublanica

http://waiterstoday.com/video/waiter-rant-steve-dublanica?xg_source...

are going to have same content ,google see that like not very good optimized web site..

Did you get anywhere with this? We are struggling with this too!

No i didnt and it would be cool that someone would respond on this discussion

This is something Ning should implement.

Ning???? This is pretty important!

Hi all!

If the problem is only with Google and only with parameters in url (things after the "?"), you can do fine tuning of it directly in the Google webmasters tools under "url parameters" (or something similar, sorry my WT interface is in french) : www.google.com/webmasters/tools/crawl-url-parameters

However, this doesn't solve all your canonicals issues...

No we have tried that and you just end up skipping/missing a LOT of content.  This is quite simple for Ning to implement!

It's because you have misconfigured for some parameters.

You can do that for these parameters :

  • target
  • previousUrl
  • xg_source
  • context
  • xn_auth

You can extend that to :

  • feed (if your sitemap is not the standard sitemap)

But you can't do that for parameters like :

  • id
  • page
  • user
  • tag
  • screenName
  • type
  • commentId
  • date

This is my config, and I can asure you : that's doing the job !

so what is your config and where did u insert it and is it working good?
