Change height of hero box

Is there a way to make the height of the hero box smaller?  Currently, it takes up too much height and I'd like for it to be shorter so more of the other stuff on the page shows up when the site is opened.

    Can you show me the code?

  • here's where i got the code to create a hero box:
    http://creators.ning.com/profiles/blogs/design-tricks-4-adding-a

    i added it all to my site and the entire box was way too tall ...in order words, it took up too much space. i removed the code from the left and center column only to get it back to the original columns for now.
    • You can resize the height by changing the height px:

      Let me know if you need help i can get it right for you!

      You will edit this':

      .space {height:270px;} /*Height of the Hero Area */

      Good Luck!

  • well, when i had the hero box all set up, i tried changing anything that had a ____px in in the code and nothing seemed to change. any other suggestions?
    • You have to match your content height px and the hero area space height.

      let me see your what you added(your html or image)

  • i do not currently have the hero box set up since i couldn't get smaller ...gone back to original column set-up for now. the box was just way too tall using code for hero box.
    • Ok try this,

      Lets give it try using this picture::

      Lets start:

      This code goes inside"Advanced " box

      .space {height:100px;} /*Height of the Hero Area */
      .module_text .xg_module_body {overflow:visible;}
      #spotlight {margin-left:-245px;width:741px;}
      #spotlight img, #spotlight embed, #spotlight object {padding:0; margin:0; max-width:741px;}

      This code goes inside "Analytics" or "Custom box"

      <script type="text/javascript">
      if (typeof(x$) != 'undefined') {
      x$("#xg_layout_column_2").attr({_maxembedwidth: "741"});
      }
      </script>

      Now back on the Main page, click the "Edit" button on the new Text Box in the left column (Text Box A) then insert the following snippet:
      <div class="space"></div>

      Now click the "Edit" button on the new Text Box in the center column (Text Box B), and insert this snippet:

      <div id="spotlight" class="space"><a href="http://api.ning.com:80/files/*tHd*uipNJBLfax4iWmVefb8uHBaS9bO9hvoRH4SlVcusSc0ekGNq7JDrO*nSBWQ9l8CsK7jnmLJBiIMka98d3w*M8hG1CIv/1064545044.jpeg" target="_self"><img src="http://api.ning.com:80/files/*tHd*uipNJBLfax4iWmVefb8uHBaS9bO9hvoRH4SlVcusSc0ekGNq7JDrO*nSBWQ9l8CsK7jnmLJBiIMka98d3w*M8hG1CIv/1064545044.jpeg"></a></div>

      Try this and let me know!
