Hello All . . . I just got off the phone with Ning support. I was asking if the columns on the template we've chosen for our network can be made the same width (right now two are narrow and one is wide). They said this is a css coding issue and someone in the Creators Forum may have done this already. So . . . here is the question. Does anyone know if some CSS code exists to override the templates make the columns the same size? Thanks!

Hi there,
Yes It can be done with CSS code but this in not an easy task. If you are changing the column size then you need to change the module sizes as well. Very sensitive job.

Funnily enough Jack, I've been working on a three column theme to upload to the Theme Group but have yet to finish it as it's a big job, like Bernard says.
Here's a screencap of where I'm at:

PM me if you're interested as it's by no means a freebie, more of a custom job.

That looks fantastic SP. However, in my opinion equal size columns is not a perfect layout. Either left or right column should be slightly smaller than 2 other columns.

I sort of agree but I do like the fact that this makes the homepage unique and actually more content efficient. The rest of the pages are like all ning sites. I might do two versions.
Cheers for feedback

SP - I like the look of your site quite a bit. Gives me some ideas.

no problem. my theme above or my live site?
I see that your network has a three column layout, yet I don't find that particular set up available through ning. Is this something you created and it so, can it be done easily using code?
