When our members send an "Invite" it's much like sending an email. After all, they can write any message they like and then send it to anybody, even outside our Ning site.
But they can not do this when they select "Compose" from their Inbox. Why are we and our members restricted to emailing only within the site?
If we can do this thru the "Invite" tab, surely this can be done thru our "Messages" section. I believe this would greatly bring in more membership.

Permalink Reply by Eric Suesz on March 28, 2012 at 11:47pm Hey, Scott. We don't offer dedicated email accounts for all members of Ning Networks. I don't think that is something we will offer, partly because a dedicated email account like that (which you might get with a traditional web host) would probably need a lot more features added to it (and a lot more technical and other types of support). My hunch is that type of work could move us away from our core focus. I think there could also be a spam-related issue if we were to simply add the ability to email anyone. We're pretty focused on beating back spam wherever we can, which is one reason we have some limits on the number of invitations you can send now. I would hate for us to lose the ground we've already won in making our messages more deliverable.
