Hi, I'm new to Ning and looking for a way to have a set form for members to fill in for new jobs they want to post. At the moment all I'm doing is posting the jobs as a forum discussion using the same format every time. It's ok for now because I only have 13 members... but at some stage members are going to be posting new jobs and I wanted to know if there was a way of embedding a form into a forum or blog so that the job postings all have the same layout.
For example;
Location:
Type of class: (it's a teachers network)
Hours per week:
Additional info:
Any ideas?
Thanks

Permalink Reply by Ed on November 6, 2012 at 3:12am hi guys, I no longer have the teachers network but the two networks I now use both have a need for this facility.
Here are the various options I've found so far on Creators and through sweating it out myself:
1. Jotform - great form builder and you can embed it into your pages. What it requires is a manual posting of the job submissions by you but it allows you to create specific entry fields and therefore not rely on members to submit all the necessary information (which, in my experience, almost never happens)
2. Using Groups - this is a great tip from Scott Bishop on how to customise a specific group discussion forum and rss feed to make a classifieds style index - easily adaptable to a jobs index. Pros - members can post themselves so you don't have to do it all yourself. You can also use tags to organise all the content. Cons - you have to rely on them to add all info required.
3. Google Custom Search - another Creators tip from Dennis Rubio. Here you outsource all the hard work and simply use a Google Custom Search to index the employment websites of your choosing - i.e. relevant to your network. I'm currently using this.
Hope this helps,
Would welcome any other suggestions from NCs.
Cheers,
Ed
