Critics on my new network

Hey guys just launch my own community yesterday, LIKE FILM http://likefilm.ning.com

Like Film is an open community for people to share opinions and talk about their interest in movies and tv.

I created this because every time I watch a film or an episode I always want to hear other peoples opinion about it and I cant get that with my FB friends :( Well maybe one or 2 but it would be good to talk with other people that I dont know. 

Would love for you guys to tell me if my site looks ok? http://likefilm.ning.com and advice on how to get people join?

Like the clean look it has. Personally I would take the 'network creator' box off, but hey, that's me..........

I would create some groups for different genres of films. That way, people who prefer a specific genre won't have to scroll through all your forum posts looking for their film interests.

For example groups for young adult films, romances, horror, foreign films, documentaries (? not sure how popular these are), comedies, fantasy, war, etc.

Also, I would come up with a catchy rating system specifically for your site.  Not '5 stars'...that's too boring and everyone does that. It needs to be something really catchy and unique for each genre.  Like inside the romance group, each reviewer would give it a "kisses" review.  1-5 "kisses" depending on how good it was.  LOL

Hi Dennis,

 If I can find time, i may join your network. I love a good movie/tv show, especially good TV series. My current favorite show is Sons Of Anarchy, incredible show, I recommend you get some discussion started on it, it may be a great draw to your site, as the show's fanbase is growing like a weed now. If you haven't gotten into it, get seasons 1-3 and start. by the end of sea. 1 you'll be hooked. The show is loosely based on Hamlet, set within an outlaw motorcycle gang.

My DH is a SoA fan and I must admit, I enjoy watching it too and I am not even a TV person. I like the deeper stories.

Maybe add something like movies that came out this week on your main page and then link them to the specific category where they can be discussed. This way you motivate people to participate. 

And......... film fans are probably attracted by images. I would make sure that the first thing you see when you get to your main page is an image of some sort. Not so much in your header (like it this way) but maybe in the forum part.
