Looks nice Nicola. I recommend having the logo a little bit smaller though.

Do you own a domain?  My opinion is that a good name AND the domain that goes with it are the first step.  If you have a good name but someone else owns that domain, you will be working hard to send them traffic.

If you have the domain, map it to your site and start using it exclusively.

You have too much stuff hiding below the fold, due to having your header to larger. A Smaller logo header would work better so that people can see more content when they first come to your site.

Making a custom domain is key too. Like Clark says it helps it be more exclusive.

Are you promoting this to your local churches as well. That would help get more members for sure.

Other than that I like how you have designed it.
