Custom smileys, replaced with custom icons?

Hello Creators, I have a request. You know those smileys that come with Ning Chat? I am looking to expand that a little bit. I don't want the usual though, and I have seen Elson Tan's post offering 60 emoticons, etc. I am running a photographic social network, and I think it would be neat to have some camera icons in there. There are some really cool free icons out there, I've downloaded a lot of them already. Is there a way to inject my custom camera icons, as smileys, into the chat bar, chat rooms, comment boxes and status update entries?
