i just came up with an idea, the ability to sort content by date posted (or age) and viewcount would be a very useful tool ..what im envisioning is a content sorting dashboard section that alows you to sort pages by both age and viewcount (and give 1 or the other more importance) so you can see which pages have been around a long time but have gotten very little attention, then you can go edit these pages changing titles etc
on many sites with forums and blogs and photo posts you get so many titles like help or i know this is a dumb question nut... or photos titled dcv234568 itles ab=nd descriotions that are useless as far as seo is concerned.. so a super useful seo tool would sort your sites content by how well or poorly its performing over time (maybe to simplify sort by average pageviews per month)
then you can work on those poorly performing paages to increase the overall traffic to your site
maybe if it included bounce rates that would also help identify pages that are not doing so well or even hurting you

Permalink Reply by soaringeagle on June 6, 2012 at 3:43pm do you mean the pages that are performing poorly?
the 1st step ofcourse is a good title if its got a poor 1 titles are the most important page element then h1 tags (which are created from the title)) then th e page text tags etc tags arent really useful on google but some search engines still weigh keywords which tags are used as keywords too
an example is say you have an amazing article on the health benifits of yogurt and the title is
it seems today everyones interested in losing weight and eating right, well you might be surprised ti find out yogurts good for you
the keywords are too diluted the title too long with too many non essential words
the 1st few words are
it seems today everyones interested in
useless
you want the most important words to have the highest prominance or be closer to the beging as well as cary more weight so be most of the 1st 1/2
so a better alternative would be
yogurt lose weight the healthy way
or
yogurt the healthy alternative
again in the body of the text you want the highest concentration of key phrases in the higher up portion of the page but u dont want it to be more then 2% of the text a a whole
in the case of a 4 paragraph page on yogurt againj if yogurts mentioned say 3 or 4 times in the top 2 paragraphs it will do better then 1 that covers an in depth history of dairy products then gets into a whole medical dialouge then mentions yogurt in the last sentence
at least if youtr targetting yogurt as a keyword
thats a very simple basic explanation but there way more that can be done
but making simple changes can help..and inspire you to learn more about seo to do more fine tuning and squeeze out as much trafic as u can
