custom welcome email not working
I am trying to create a custom welcome email. I read one post that said to simply replace on of the first lines of the Ning email in "language editor" with all of the copy from my email, and then delete the things in the other fields. That doesn't seem to work. It simply sends my email, and then all of the NIng email after it, even though I have "deleted" that information.
I also don't know how to preview the welcome email without creating a dummy account.

Did you try this Language Editor location, as Jen outlines? Or, was it another discussion? You can change quite a bit of the messaging in different ways.
I wouldn't worry about creating a dummy account. No problem with that. I would actually recommend it if you ever want to test something. You can always delete that account later if you want.
