I have to say I'm pretty disappointed with Network Creators.

Most of you wine and cry about what you don't like or what features you want, but where is your voice when Ning is asking for feedback. Case in point the Beta Chat, I can count on my fingers the number of creators who are/have given feedback.

Don't give me some line that you didn't want to test it out cause it's in beta. Turn it on engage your members, ask them to test it out even if it's only for a few hours and get their feed back. They will appreciate you more for trying to improve your network. If it's not up to par yet disable the beta and turn back on the old chat and wait till the next update.

Don't complain for the next four years about the New Chat when you didn't even VOTE, oops I mean give feedback.

I doubt NIng will do any of what you guys propose... they have been very silent about the future of the platform and what are the upcoming features for 2012.

we have asked many times before that Ning officially announce a clear roadmap for the next 3, 6 and 12 months but nothing has been released.

And everytime someone become too critical on this forum about the lack of features and new features, Eric will come in and change or censor the post...

Silence is never good for an software vendor and I suspect something not too good for us is cooking...

Max, you are posting exactly the same text in three different discussions.

This is slightly below my personal spam threshold, but I would not be too surprised if your mention of deleting posts becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I posted it three times but it was relevant to all these discussions...

I think Ning has done a pretty good job w/ the Product Roadmap and I would like to see them complete this one first before adding more to it.

I see some good features on the new chat, but many features I would like to see happen. It doesn't block modules as much as the older version does and it does pop out. I find it harder to read, as It appears to be a little smaller font. My biggest complaint would be that I can no longer delete the messages as I used to be able to on the older version. I would also like to see the option of members being able to change at least their font color and font. As far as slower, I don't see much difference. I have had both versions hang up. This is why I like the delete option. On the older version I would delete every 20 mins or so, if there was a lot of activity in the chat room, and this helped with the problem.

IM NOT A CREATOR - IM TRYNIA LEARN AND NOONE HERE IS MUCH HELP WITH TEACHIN

IM TRYNING TO FGURE OUT WHY WHEN I TRY TO SHARE TO FACEBOOK IT SAYS THIS

img objects must have valid 'src' and 'href' attributes

Hey, Da Button Pusha. I would recommend submitting a ticket so we can check it out for you. It sounds like maybe your Facebook App isn't configured as it should be. We can help fix it for you. Just navigate to the Support link on your dashboard and let us know. Thanks.

As with anything that goes through changes, there are problems. I am trusting in Ning to get the bugs out. As far as ease of use, I can see where some would have a problem. I made a How To Do List that I send to every new member after I welcome them. If you are a creator and don't have the time to write a simple How to get started sheet to send to the new members or members that are now trying to get involved, think about having you administrator(s), do that. My main Goal on Cross Roads Fellowship, is to have all my members involved. I want them to be comfortable in that site.

Right now my biggest issue is with the new chat box. member of my site, like that the box is smaller, but font is too small. My administrator and myself don't like where we cant delete messages before we sign off. I do think we should have that option. I say option, because I see where some here don't want to delete messages. Other than CRF, I belong to 3 other Ning networks and other than here all others are on the old chat box. Not sure if this helped, butttt...

I second Max's comments above.

I used to post and help creators here (in the old forum) voraciously. I'm a sharer.  However, I find Ning to be unresponsive to valuable creators like myself.  I DO get someone replying to my HELP query either by phone or email ticket, I DON"T get any help however. Just a standard response and not once in years, a reaction and "we'll fix this for you". Just standard, set replies to each scenario.  I will say though - Phil is the one guy that knows his stuff and has helped!!!! He should be running the whole ship.

About the chat. They should haIve put up a visible "Who's Online" box years ago. We have a member's box, why not a Members Online box? Or as was once the case, a small dot on each profile pic, indicating the member is online?  This would dramatically help member engagement but has never happened. I've just gone to whosamungus to show member online activity. Not a good solution.

Jim and others have done well listing all the problems with the chat as is.

David

I enabled the beta chat just yesterday and when I logged on today, the entire chat conversation was in German and no one on it speaks German.  Kinda wacky...
