Hi there !
I find the NING's activity layout not really clear for the readers and would like something like that : www.chiwawabook.com
Anyone creator able to help on my project or any advice from members ?
Thanks.
Fred

Permalink Reply by Peter Sorensen on March 9, 2012 at 5:25pm haha, you never know. There's all kinds of people out there - just making sure I cover my bases and not assume too much. Good to know you're on the same page.
Permalink Reply by Fred CAMPANA on March 9, 2012 at 5:32pm just started with Ning few days ago. I try to figure out CSS to manage everything on my own (otherwise I would hire a webdesigner to copy the websites I like ;-))).
Permalink Reply by Peter Sorensen on March 9, 2012 at 4:54pm That's because it links to an image on their server (at http://www.chiwawabook.com/application/themes/gordonpro/images/corn...). You'll probably want to make your own and host it on your own server.
Also, that's just to illustrate the CSS method they used. You may need to change
ul.feed .feed_item_body:before, .browsemembers_results_info:before
to whatever specific element you want to use it on.

Permalink Reply by Fred CAMPANA on March 9, 2012 at 5:12pm Hey Peter ?
And do you know if it is possible to make the background color in the activity feed different from the modules one ?
Thanks again !
Fred
Permalink Reply by Peter Sorensen on March 9, 2012 at 5:32pm You would just add
background-color: #efefef!important;
into the .feed-story CSS (and change #efefef to whatever color you want)
So if you used the example SweetPotato posted it would look like:
.feed-story {
border: 1px solid #E4E4E4!important;
border-radius: 5px!important;
-webkit-border-radius: 5px!important;
-moz-border-radius: 5px!important;
clear: both;
min-height: 48px;
padding:10px;
position: relative;
word-wrap: break-word;
margin:10px 0 20px 60px!important;
background-color: #efefef!important;
}

Permalink Reply by Richard Brisse on March 15, 2012 at 7:55am Nice tip but when I publish my site the background color doesn't show.
Permalink Reply by Fred CAMPANA on March 9, 2012 at 5:27pm Indeed Ning activity feed use the same arrow (see where the member input their text) but I cannot understand how to use this one in the activity feed (after). When I inspect this element with firebug I can ready "overlay" and that's all.

cheers Peter, got this going on here
