Hi, I changed my URL from a ".ning" address about a week ago and began having issues immediately. It never really loaded properly from the get-go, but I soldiered on while working on the site. No one seems to be able to help, and I've talked to Ning support, and support at Dotster, who the domain's registered with. Now it won't load at all. I know that all DNS record info is correct and everything's pointing in the right direction. It seems to work when other people load, but I can't get to it on my own computer (MacBook Pro). Every other website and all internet connections are working fine. I'm out of troubleshooting tips. I even reinstalled my operating system. My browser is Safari, and it keeps saying "Can't find the server". I installed FireFox, and it's doing the same thing. Occasionally, if it loads at all, it's shaky and weird things happen, like (I've uploaded a couple of screen shots) the following. Notice my chat bar, it just keeps scrolling up the side of the page.
I can clearly see your site from here without any problems. http://songlevernation.com/
I suggest clearing your browser cache and flushing your dns cache, guide here for Mac OSX. Usually, a reboot/restart will do from past experiences of other NCs.
As for the chatbar, it's looks good in Chrome. Is your Safari version up to date?
Thanks Ron, have done all of these. Many more than once. Also just flushed my DNS cache too. doesn't seem to be working. Here's another screen shot of something else. I'm running Lion 10.7.3 by the way. Notice, I'm on my "My Network" page. The URL says I'm on my "Main" page. There are other things going on as well. Really weird.
I see that. Yes, this looks like a problem and an isolated case.
For the first screenshot, have you altered any domain url mapping within your network?
as for the 2nd one, try clearing out your custom code for a while and load the bare essentials. Must be a link issue within your network, or the domain mapping is not set up correctly..
Hi Monroe Jones,
Did you solve this issue?
I also have this kind of screen...
If you found a solution please share it. :-)
Hi Luis, I tried everything under the sun, and no one seemed able to help. Then I changed the domain that was giving me trouble, to a new domain, and went through the whole process again to change domains, and it worked, and I haven't had any issues since then. Hope this helps!
