Educational plan not really sufficient for running a class. Pro was my only option

Here's a plea to Ning to allow educational sites to get the Pro option at a discount. I need Pro for the custom added pages (for course schedules, Google Calendar HTML integration, and link lists) and various other features.

Since I teach 2 classes (formerly four), it's setting me back $40/month, and on my adjunct salary, that's not a whole heck of a lot.

Plz discount? Maybe even on anything after the 1st site?

Again, the Pearson-sponsored option just isn't sufficient.

If you're living in the the United States, that's very cheap to you and can afford anything you want. And if you're living outside the States like me it's very expensive and painful to pockets! I will give you a few highlights why Ning didn't have more subscribers due to the following reasons:

1. Dollars exchange rate is too high to some countries.(difference)
2. They didn't consider/prioritize those who are in an average income level especially those who offered a free MINI sponsorship.(Unfair)
3. MINI is of NO good used to them due to features limit.(Not satisfied)
4. MINI lacks support(Painful)
5. MINI is cheap, but members don't like it due to performance level.(Not Typical)

Until now, I haven't heard anything about ning.

To add to this -- I'm not critical of Ning's offerings; on the contrary, I like them very much and use them as an alternative to Blackboard and WebCT, very cumbersome courseware promoted and licensed by colleges. I think Ning could have a terrific market as alternatives to these expensive pieces of junk if Ning dropped the price for individual instructors and went after colleges for licensing.
I tend to agree with you Robert! I don't know if ning can handle this. Business is business and they want to get something from it. They don't care about peoples demand and they don't care about the individual status! It's their site, they can do whatever they like to do...Not saying that it's a greedy thing, but it's something like running to the nearest possible round off!!! SmileyCentral.com

Arkitext, you are an idiot, I am sorry. Just because we live in the United States, we can afford anything we want??? What the hell is that supposed to mean?? Ya know, a lot of us here in this great country are barely getting by. I don't appreciate the comment one bit, and only goes to prove the comments I have made about you previously. I am sorry to interject my personal thoughts into this thread Robert, but I just couldn't let that slide, especially from a fellow college educator......
