I have recently participated in this thread requesting that normal network members should be able to send private messages to anyone else without befriending them first (which I agree with).
I have done some research and discovered a method to embed a contact form in ANY html compatible text box (not just Ning sites).

Now the "downside" is that the form is accessible by anyone who can see the text box in which it is embeded. Therefore, if one of your network members wanted to put this on their profile page, they should also change their privacy settings so that their profle page is only viewable by other network members. That should limit any abuse by external spammers.

sorry, but how would you embed a widget from contactify inside a forum discussion's HTML? I can't seem to be able to do that (I'm using a close discussion as contact-us site); I'm also not able to add the form HTML either
