Embed ning chat on other pages

So maybe for some this is obvious, but I know for myself, and some others it isn't.

 

To embed your ning chat on any page of your ning network, or any website for that matter simply put your ning url in the code below, and paste it where you want it.

You can also, of course, change the size to fit your own needs.

Is it possible to do something simmilar with playlists and photo slideshows?

You can do this with musicplayers,

But... you'll only be able to have 1 type of playlist in each musicplayer widget. Said more precise, you can have a: "Best Rated" listplayer, "Latest Uploads" listplayer, "Recommended" listplayer, "Podcast" listplayer and "Your Own Playlist" listplayer.

Go to your MAIN musicplayer, click the "Edit" button and select what type of muscplayer list you wan't to generate, click "Save".

Next, click the "arrow up" icon in the musicplayer controlpanel and choose "Share". Now you'll have the embedding code for you musicplayer list widget. You can do this 1 time for every type of list category, but you can paste the widget in any textbox around your site, even in comments if you like that once in a while.

You can adjust the width and height of the widgets you make, by pasting the embed code into a notepad document, edit the values (width="You Value" height="Your Value".

BE AWARE of the autoplay function that might be activated, if you lift the embed code of a member musicplayer. The player WILL start playing automaticly, every place you put the widget, if it's set for that by the owner. You CAN adjust (deactivate) the autoplay in the widget code, before posting, but I'll leave that for now, it's another story. :)

Oh, this process can be used for Photos and sliders as well...

Does anyone know of a way to create multiple chats. For example, I want to have two pages that will allow different chats to take place simultaneously.

I don't believe this is possible for now. The only way (i guess), would be to have an eksternal third party chat embed'ed underneath the original chat windows or on it's own page.

The wrong ting about this though, is that every external chat you embed, will have no connection to your member data, like in the original chat, connected to the whole network system of yours.

Anyway, if you do not get an official response from a Ning forum supporter on this issue, i will direct you at Jen, at Jen's Social Network. She often has a deeper view into stuff like this, in other word... a yes or a absolutely no to your qestion.

Becuse I did not want the full chat box on my homepage I recently used this one to place Chat in a textbox on the homepage making it possible for me to change height and width.
