Below is a screen shot of a prospective member trying to register.
The Location field is a Required field but when the person tried to register they were presented with this error but no field in which to post the necessary data.
This appears to be an erratic problem as one other person registered ane I was able to register two sample profiles.

Permalink Reply by Shaun on January 18, 2011 at 9:51pm Many thanks Eric,
1. Could well be the case. I had no problem registering a sample profile with Firefox but did have a problem registering another sample with IE8; I will check my IE and follow up with the others.
2. Maybe Ning should consider offering a remedy (and/or alternative) in the pink error box when it appears. "Is Javascript enabled? Try non-flash option.") Apparently 85% of people leave a website if they have navigation issues irrespective of where the fault lies.
Thanks for the quick response.
Permalink Reply by Shaun on January 18, 2011 at 9:56pm @Eric, I realise that the message in the pink box is confusing. The City/State only appears AFTER you select the Country so asking for City/State when it isn't on the page demands a level of rocket science to guess that.
"Please select Country, then City/State" may be more appropriate?
Do I have any control over that message?
