All of a sudden the events feed on my Ning site has stopped working: http://www.ofotinget.no/events/event/feed?xn_auth=no
Is anyone else experiencing this?

This would be nice....
Hi RIchard,
Yes, there was a chorus about events-feed down! I had submitted a help ticket a while ago. As of late yesterday, the feed worked again. It seems to work this am as well.

Yes it works well (i.e. it's now a valid rss feed) but the items no longer contain the date of the event. It's a very big issue. :-(
Permalink Reply by Richard on August 25, 2011 at 9:14am and i think something very big is coming on the event-feature !!!
WHY?
Because searching-tool in the event feature is also not working anymore....
I think they changing the data-model / architecture for a new structure...
Because they are not aollowed to talk about that, they only behave to keep us calm until a big nice update / upgrade will be announced...
who knows...
Permalink Reply by Richard on August 26, 2011 at 9:14am hi Robin,
yesterday i create a new ticket and NOW i got a fair answer:
Hey there,
As a result of a recent fix to fix a different issue, the event dates in the Events RSS feed are no longer showing up in most RSS applications. Our engineering team is working on a fix and it's being tested out to make sure everything's working as expected. I don't have an exact ETA as to when the dates will be restored, but I'll pass your case and network details along. Thanks for your patience in the meantime.
Best,
Blake
For me this is enough to know that i now will invest in a own solution !!!
I will grab the event-data with XQUERY and then creating a own RSS-FEED....
For me this topic is now closed !!!

I must agree that Ning has been rather unprofessional on this matter, considering it is (for some) critical functionality on a paid service.
Permalink Reply by Pierre Lannoy on August 30, 2011 at 3:52am Hi Eric - and others ;-)
Have you some news on this issue wich is very blocking for me and my members ?
Permalink Reply by Richard on August 30, 2011 at 4:26am Hello Pierre,
i create a php-script from an external page to parse the events and create a own feed for my needs !!!
I decided to-do so after i got a third answer which you can read here above ^
It looks like that NING wants a rss-conform feed which means only these properties are used:
so the rss-readers will be able to show correct entries (but without really sense when not included the event-dates)
Permalink Reply by Pierre Lannoy on August 30, 2011 at 4:49am Hi Richard !
Of my modest knowledge, RSS could be extended by modules/namespaces and remains valid rss. I think there are modules/namespaces for events and meetings... So the rss validity can not be an "excuse" for not publishing the event date...
There is NO technical (or conformance) reason to downgrade the functionnalities of this feed !
Permalink Reply by Richard on August 30, 2011 at 7:54am sounds good but will not helping us at all since NING will wake up in this issue...
So for me the game is over...
The thing that a feature that runs for years now stops working / is useless is a heavy mistake in my eyes...
Permalink Reply by Eric Suesz on August 30, 2011 at 9:14am Very sorry to hear that the game is over for you, Richard. You will be missed!
Pierre, this has been fixed but not yet deployed. I will update when it is.
