Fireworks for the New Year! (more like confetti if you ask me)

To add fireworks to your website for the New Year, simply follow these steps:

<script src="http://yourserverpath.com/fireworks.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

Ning Networks:

  • Upload fireworks.js to your Ning Network via: My Network/Content/File Manager
  • After you upload file, copy/paste the file link (copy permanent link).
  • Edit the script above by changing the script src="http://yourserverpath.com/fireworks.js" to your new "permanent link".
  • Then, add the edited script to your Custom Code Box, via My Network/Tools/Custom Code
  • Add to Text Box instead, for faster loading. See below.

FASTER AND BETTER: Instead of adding the edited script to the Custom Code Box, add to a text box on your home page. This way it only loads on the home page, and much faster.

  • In an empty Text Box, click on HTML.
  • Add a DIV tag around your edited script like this: <div><script src="yourserverpath/fireworks.js" type="text/javascript">
    </script></div>
  • Save Text Box.

If you must have fireworks on all pages, this is still better. For all pages: Add to a text box in right column, that displays on all pages.

Happy New Year Everyone!

Oh my. LOL! :-)

Thank you Jen.  Happy New Year to you too.

I finally figured out after TWO HOURS of fooling with my discussion post on my network, that the new editor doesn't like asterisks inserted into the interior of a discussion.  It completely chokes up the editor.  When I took the line of asterisks out that I was using as a scene divider, the problem disappeared.  *sigh*

But the centering problem still exists, as does the fact that in Visual mode the editor acts erratically with commands placed upon highlighted text.

ahhh, good and bad discovery. Glad you found it. On the centering your slider images vertically, I tried to help with that behind the scenes. It kept freaking out the code, sorry. Your best solution when working
with any slider, find a way to resize your images and make them the same
size. You can always add a background color to a larger canvas for
smaller images - - making the overall smaller image larger.

Happy New Year!

Jen

Thanks alot, this is fantastic...:)
