I would like to request a small change on the Forward Message feature to allow member to easily forward the message to Admin. A member should be able to click on forward to admin or report to admin any message they seem inappropriate.

Right now the forward message shows a check box with all your friends. It will be a problem to report a message if I don't have the admin on my friends list or if I have too many friends on my network.

The reason I'm asking for this is from time to time, I'm getting complain from some of my members regarding the message they claim to receive from the other members. As an Admin, I would like to make sure that the complain is real or not altered in any way when they do a cut and paste of the text they sent to me so I can make the proper action.

Thanks!

Great idea:)
Hi Janette

As the creator, you will find that the Send a Message link in the left column below your profile photo is available for all members. They don't have to be your friend to send you a message.

I simply add links where necessary to my profile photo and then on my page indicate clearly that I am the person to talk to about problems.

There is also a Report an Issue link at the bottom of pages for members to report an issue. You will receive an email about the issue directly. BTW, you can't see the link. You need to be logged in as a member to see it.
Except that neither of those solutions will send the message that the member received. If the message is offensive/threatening/spam/etc., as the NC I would definitely want to know about it and see it myself so I could take the appropriate action, so I can definitely see this as being a great idea.
I agree with Travis, Jeff-we need a way to FORWARD messages to admin. Not send them a message in general, that is already done:)
I can see the use for this and it's something we can discuss here.
In the meantime, they can forward the notification from their actual email inbox if they'd like, and you provide an address for them to send to. This isn't a replacement, but more if you are currently experiencing some reports of bad messages.

Thanks,
Laura
Great idea for a temporary fix:) I have included my personal email address in my site's features list as a way for them to send me music to upload to the network's main playlist, so this is workable:) I will add this to the "help" section:)
Particularly, if someone is reporting this to you privately, you can give them a help email address, privately, to forward this to.
True, although I don't really mind sharing my email address. If I don't want them to email me I can just ignore their emails lol. It's what I do when I get phone calls all day and night from telemarketers. My networks aren't set up as "business" networks so mostly my private email address is appropriate.
I wish that would work for me because it is a good temporary fix (assuming they have email notifications on and haven't already deleted the message) but we have a corporate policy preventing any staff member from revealing our email addresses on the network. (It's complicated, but essentially we can't officially endorse our own network, therefore we also can't share our emails... gotta love attorneys!)
Hi Laura,

When you say forward to the notification from their actual email box do you mean that from the inbox page, they can click on forward and enter the email address I provide to them? I could not seem to see this feature right now where they can just enter the email address to forward a message.

Or is it still the same as they have to copy the message and paste it to the message they will be sending to me?

Thanks!
I think she means they can simply forward you the email notification they received to your actual email address (in other words, completely outside of your Ning site).
:) Yep, a slight senior moment on my part. I didn't quite get what you were asking for. Being able to forward a suspect email to admin would be a good feature.

Even a link at the top of the Inbox page for Contact Admin that sent a message to the creator would be great. And if it listed the admins so you could choose one would be better.
