We weren't thrilled with having " Sign into chat!" staring perspective members/visitors to our place in the face, so we got rid of it. Somehow it reminded me of a neon light on a flea bag hotel in a seedy part of town.
Go to the language Editor, type in <a %s>Sign in to chat!</a> , remove only the Sign in to chat! It will now be, <a %s></a> Do not leave it blank as nothing will change. A blank white bar is better that seeing Sign in to chat! glaring everyone in the face, in my opinion.
By the way, a lot of unwanted stuff can be hidden simply by removing the content between the arrows and leaving the arrows butting as ><.

Permalink Reply by Vipster on July 2, 2012 at 9:23am I kinda like "Sign in to chat." It lets me know if I'm signed in or not right away and encourages members to sign in if they aren't. But I've always liked neon lights in flea bag hotels in seedy parts of town. Creepy mortuaries turn me on even more, Dr. D ;)
