Groups Alphabetical Order and Group Discussion Categories?
Any chance we will be able to organize Groups in the near future? Are either of these features on the near-future roadmap?
Not only am I constantly reminded on my own Networks how badly these features are needed, I am asked about this very often.
Thanks,
Jen

Static pages were setup on the My Atlantis network to categorize and alphabetize all Groups. Please feel free to take a look.
Note: We have not checked for broken links (deleted groups) within the last month!
I should add that our analytics show that members use both the alphabetized and category listings often.

TY Diane :))

Permalink Reply by Nicholas Kyriakides on November 9, 2010 at 2:38am how about sub-groups? I think this is a good idea too!
For Groups NING really should check out the dutch leading social network Hyves. Groups are categorized in :
- Hyves
- Spots
- Schools
- Other educations
- Companies
- Clubs
It would be nice if we could categorize like this too.
Each group has it's own Calendar, Forum, Blog, Photo's and messageboard and can be personalised just like the profile pages on NING. (It's almost a complete network within the network)
If Groups in NING would become like this all our communities would probably grow way faster.
Permalink Reply by Mohammed Zaheer on November 11, 2010 at 5:40am Definitely agree. I'm currently evaluating other network providers and move out of Ning because I think this is such a basic and crucial functionality. My whole groups looks a mess results in poor user experience as I can't categorise them...
