I had a page named /used but replaced it with /classifieds. People still go to /used.
This hack does the redirect for me.

Permalink Reply by Erik Woods on June 15, 2012 at 10:15pm I wouldn't call this a "hack" - it's just a generic JavaScript redirect.
I do have a way to improve it, though. Check out this tip I just submitted: http://bit.ly/ningvanityurls

Permalink Reply by John on June 16, 2012 at 8:52am It's a hack in the sense that there is no native facility to manage orphaned pages with a 301 Redirect
Permalink Reply by Erik Woods on June 18, 2012 at 7:32am I would just call it a work-around, myself - but I suppose the terminology doesn't really matter. :)
Permalink Reply by Ace on June 16, 2012 at 1:25am NEED HELP Please...
I just test the code on this page (http://www.portfolios.net/group/contests)
Now, I can't access my page to remove the code. Every one who enter this link will redirect to http://motorhomes.com/classifieds .
Please tell me how to fix this. Thanks

Permalink Reply by John on June 16, 2012 at 7:43am Ace, go to this page
http://www.portfolios.net/page/page/list
Then click the Edit » link next to your page in the list

Permalink Reply by John on June 16, 2012 at 8:00am I just now noticed that you used the redirect in your group, instead of a page...
http://www.portfolios.net/group/contests
Does anyone know the edit URL for groups? I don't use groups so I don't know.
Maybe this will work...

yes just add /edit to any page on the network to edit it
Permalink Reply by Ace on June 16, 2012 at 11:43am Thanks John, bus I still can't access to the custom text box in "Contests Group"
this link http://www.portfolios.net/group/contests/edit only allow me to access the config menu but not to edit the text box.
