I have read the latest blog. Sounds like Ning is getting its second wind and going to take off in the second half of the year. :) Looking forward to the upcoming developments. Also, looks like the benefits of Glam will be trickling in soon to, like mobile ads and desktop ads. :)

[Edit] My only concern would be if this new dashboard offers a Bandwidth and Storage indicator. Then you may see enforcement on the Bandwidth and Storage limits and new prices for additional units.

[Edit 2] Ning's pricing plan DESCRIPTIONS have been updated and offer 'Flexible Advertising Options' I would assume these would be through Glam. Should be intertesting to see what comes of that.

yep, search for bandwidth in language editor

Extra Storage And Bandwidth

Yeah, those have been in the language editor for about a year now. I just hope they stay hiden away and not seen on the dash. Here's hopin.

oh right.

I reckon, if anything, Ning VIP people won't have a clue about bandwidth and storage limits (and the fact that Ning don't currently monitor), and the language we see in the editor might be for them. At present we all upload images to the api.ning domain, and as far as I can tell there is no unique identifier that says this image is on that network so unless they revamp that then storage and bandwidth is smoke and mirrors. I often upload images here on creators to use on my own network or for css backgrounds etc.

Just FYI: Those pieces of language were added years ago, SweetPotato. We used to charge for storage and bandwidth in a different way.

sorry, my bad. thanks for clarifying.

What worries me is, what  will the VIP price be? As a not for profit we have to adhere to a very strict budget and having an increase in accounts payable means we would have to cut back on the programs we offer. In today's economy with everything becoming hyper expensive, this could just be the nail in the coffin of many charitable small businesses.

Hey FedMedic,

The Ning VIP starts at $1,000 /month. http://m.techcrunch.com/2012/07/10/glam-ning/

Did you read the last sentence

Ning is also announcing a new paid product called Ning

it carries on to page two :-)

Didn't notice there was another page..

WOW .. that is too expensive for me. I am out
